Potty Training Articles
So you've the made the decision to begin your child on his journey out of the diaper and onto the toilet. But if you're like most parents, simply the prospect of potty training may seem a bit overwhelming. That's why it's a good idea to find out how ready you are (both emotionally and physically!) before you begin.
Once you've determined the readiness of both yourself and your child, you can start learning about the basics of exactly what you should be expecting during this important developmental stage.
Probably one of the biggest questions on the minds of parents considering potty training is, "when should I start?". What you learn might surprise you! In fact, many parents assume that is better to wait to toilet train, when in fact their child is already ready. Get the facts on the early vs. late debate so that you don't waste any more of your precious time.
Once you've made the decision to start, there are a few things you should know. For starters, put the rumors to rest and learn what (if any) differences exist between potty training girls and boys. Then get the tips you need to help you get started with both, including why consistency is one of the key tenents of any successful potty training method.
Finally, don't let yourself get lost in all the media rage over the latest potty training products. In fact, these may just make the whole process more drawn out and complicated. For example, many parents believe they are making their children's transition to the toilet easier by putting them in pull-ups, when in fact this could just make them more confused when it comes time for the real thing.
Of course, one product you should be well versed on is the potty chair, as you'll need to know which kind will work best for your family.
I was at the absolute end of my rope with potty training my three-year-old twins when I bought and read your WONDERFUL e-booklet. Everything I was trying ended up a failure. All the tips my family and friends were giving me were unsuccessful or just wrong. It was even more frustrating because I have a boy and a girl, and they are at different learning levels, as my daughter seems to listen and follow directions better.
After reading the guide and following the directions, I am so pleased to say that BOTH my children are now potty trained and it took less than a week of very little aggravation and mess. My son was dry through the first night and EVERY night now, and has only wet his pants once in the last five days (when he was very tired and cranky). My daughter has wet more than my son, but she is getting it down and is excited about being a "big girl" now.
This is the best $ I have EVER spent. It has saved us so much stress and confusion and money in the long run, and it's all thanks to Lora's guide. So long diaper bag! L. Valdor Success Date: 03/09/2006 |
